HB Journal for May 3, 1939

Today has come again and with it all the tasks, duties, hardships, trials, tribulations, temptations, pleasures, joys, hopes, expectations and what not.

As it unwinds itself, it reveals just exactly what portion of these abstract items would fall to my lot.

As I look back over the day, I cannot help being thankful for the pleasant place I had found myself or the pleasures & joys that were mine.

After a slim choir rehearsal i got my hair cut and we had a prayer meeting committee at Mary Jane's. After that Jane & I had the night to ourselves—till about 2:30.
