HB Journal for May 12, 1939

From Brackbillwiki

Ever my life of luxury and ease must be a life of restlessness and speed.

I got up about seven and had to get to Lancaster by nine, where Kaufman preached and our choir sang over the radio. Jane, Mrs. Young, Everett & I shopped, applied for marriage license, got wedding clothes, in fact spent all my money but ten cents.

After late dinner I came back to the mill & worked till 4:30. I expect to go to bed, not with the chickens, but before them.

Just seven whole days of single life, I hope, then comes what? ? ? ? ?
