HB Journal for Jun 1, 1939
From Brackbillwiki
"And what is so rare as a day in June?" Man, this one was really rare. It was hot and sticky. My shirt was really wet.
It was hard to get up but we made it. Everything seems to be going rosy and lovely. I really didn't expect such close harmony between us, and yet there is no reason for it to be otherwise.
We were serenaded last night and I paid out to the tune of 7 bucks. There were 60 or 70 kids here and the noise was terrific.
After hurried supper we went to Church. Jane had children's day practice and we were supposed to have choir practice and didn't. We got our car fixed and headed for home.
