HB Journal for Jul 23, 1939

Jane had to get up this morning and unlock the door for the iceman but I scarcely remember it for I got up at a quarter of eight and don't remember much till that time.

Sunday School and Church as usual. We had dinner at home. In the afternoon we prepared a picnic with Jane's family over in "Brackbill's Meadow." We swam, played ball & shot snakes till we were terrible tired.

We then went to C.E. & played with a kitten. After that we went over to Sheaffers & listened to the radio & visited for a while. So much till now. It is bed time & it won't be hard to sleep.
