HB Journal for Jan 23, 1939
From Brackbillwiki
It certainly was hard to get up this morning, again. The wind still blows and it is cold. At the mill a cold wet job awaited me, cleaning the ice out of the waterwheel.
We were not especially busy and it looked like we would get done in short order when things started to go wrong. We had to re-mix a 2 1/2 ton batch of feed @ quitting time.
Schrumppie got stuck and it took an hour more to get him out. I turned over in my Chevy on the way home and had to walk home for help.
After supper we had a Jr. Usher's Assn meeting at Kenn Kreiders. It was just wonderful.
