Pages that have been protected are important pages and only certain users are allowed to edit them, examples are the Main Page, Featured Article Archive, and Featured Contributor Archive. They will remain protected until further notice. If you do have the ability to edit a protected page, you must document what you edited about it, if not the edit will be reverted as soon as it is discovered.
