Grand Maester

The Grand Maester of the Citadel serves at King's Landing and sits on the small council. Grand Maester Pycelle is the current Grand Maester.

The Hand of the King, Jon Arryn, Lord of the Eyrie, fell ill and died after a short while. Unable to save him, Grand Maester Pycelle gave Jon milk of the poppy to ease the pain.
