The Vale is a valley in the Mountains of the Moon.
The Kings of Mountain and Vale were one of the oldest and purest lines of Andal nobility. House Arryn is descended from this line.
Eddard Stark and Robert Baratheon were fostered by Jon Arryn at the Eyrie
King Aerys II Targaryen demanded the heads of Eddard Stark and Robert Baratheon from their warden Lord Jon Arryn. He revolted instead.
