Spirits

From Aryez

Book 24 of the Marfat

24: Spirits

1. God made many spirits to help Him.

2. He made many countless angels to aid Him, and

3. they exist to do his bidding. He

4. also created the Lady of Nature who commands

5. an almost infinite variety of nature spirits

6. who maintain the balance of the Universe.

7. Led by the most powerful angel who was jealous

8. of God and desired to control the

9. Universe, some angels revolted and became the

10. demons, while their leader became

11. the Devil. Never listen to demons and the Devil

12. for they do evil and only seek to corrupt

13. humans for their purposes. Listen not to the

14. words they whisper in your heart. Seek

15. guidance from the nature spirits or from

16. the angles of God. Love them, but

17. do not make idols of them to worship (but you can create sculptures and pictures).

18. Revere them but do not worship them. Only

19. worship God, the One. Only reject the

20. Devil, master of lies. Such is the power

21. of the Lord- to fill the Universe with many

22. spirits, all who shall answer to His

23. judgment and power in the end.

Commentary: This book states that the various gods and idols of other religions are actually just local personifications of the force who serve the ultimate personification of the force, God. These other beings may be called angels, demigods, demons, or nature spirits. These beings are countless, and each culture may have a different but completely true perception of these beings. However it is important to note that only God can be worshiped. The most powerful of these spirits is the Devil, a being who desires to rule all and corrupts good for his purposes. This book warns against listening to the dark thoughts the Devil puts in the hearts of people. The Lady of Nature is a spirit who tries to preserve life and nature in the chaos of the battle between good and evil. She serves God unlike the Devil.
