Seasons
From Aryez
Book 6 of the Marfat
6: Seasons
1. The seasons change with the passage of time.
2. Each brings beauty in its own fashion
3. Winter with its softly falling white snow,
4. Spring with its clearly flowing streams,
5. Summer heralded by blooming flowers,
6. and Fall heralded by crimson leaves.
7. The world is ever changing, in an eternal
8. cycle, so perfect, so beautiful…
9. Men often fail to notice these changes
10. being so immersed in other matters
11. But herein lies the true glory of God:
12. The awe and the raising of
13. the heart that one feels on
14. beholding this march of time,
15. the sight of the eternally changing seasons.
16. Appreciate the moment. Looking at
17. nature allows people to calm down and
18. thus think clearly, so that they will
19. not commit rash deeds but instead
20. partake in correct actions. Feeling the winds
21. and waters is like feeling the spirit
22. of God moving through you, which is
23. why it is important and refreshing to
24. keep in touch with nature.
Commentary: This book talks about the inevitability of change and the cyclic passage of time. Events seem to repeat themselves. The book urges people to focus more on the bigger picture of life and take some hope from the beauty of nature instead of being absorbed with only their own problems. In this way, they can perhaps find a resolution to their problems. The beauty of nature is another theme of this book. It is of the view that all seasons are equally beautiful because each season has its own merits. Each season acts in a certain way, which is also an important idea because the way each season acts is the natural way (the way things are meant to be), and when things occur naturally, as they were meant to occur, harmony is achieved and maintained. Harmony is essential for the Universe to run smoothly. The opposite of harmony is friction. Friction causes disharmony, which in turn leads to strife and war. Because nature is a natural and harmonious place, it is good to spend some time alone with nature; this clears the mind and allows people to make calm, cool decisions. The alternative is making rash decisions they may later regret.
