29: Love

1. Jesus, the wise said: “Love is patient,

2. love is kind. It does not envy, it does

3. not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude,

4. it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,

5. it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not

6. delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7. It always protects, always trusts, always

8. hopes, always preserves.” That is love.

Commentary: This book describes the absolute importance of love. In fact, the founder summed up the power of God in terms of love: “Each of the nine pillars [of faith] is carved from the same stone, they are from one origin. This one origin is the true summary of religion. It is love. Nothing is more important than love. Love your God more than you love yourself and love every other person as you would love yourself. Love is the bane of evil. Love gives true meaning and purpose to existence. More than anything, God is love.”
