Creation
From Aryez
Book 21 of the Marfat
21: Creation
1. Believers and followers of the Lord’s
2. truth, it is pointless to ask what was
3. before God or the Universe. God was
4. always there and He is everything.
5. Outside of this Universe, time and space
6. lose meaning. Time and space were born
7. with the Universe. What do such things
8. mean to God anyhow? Foolish are
9. those who ask why the Lord made
10. the Universe; or for what purpose. It
11. is not for mortals to demand such
12. answers from God. Is it not enough for
13. us to serve the Lord? Is it not
14. enough to know that all that passes
15. serves the ultimate and good plan of
16. God? Billions upon billions of years ago, God
17. created all that exists and created it
18. from His own power and self. Thus it can be said that
19. God is existence itself, although existence, of which God is a personification of, is far greater
20. than any can ever imagine. All that existed
21. was packed into a single point until
22. God began the Universe by causing
23. this point to explode (big bang). Thus the Universe will
24. expand forever until God ends it on
25. the Day of Judgment (which is trillions of years from now). The Universe
26. continues to evolve and operate on the
27. same eternal laws God made for it
28. in the beginning (laws of science). Yet the Universe and laws
29. of God are so complex that we will
30. continue to seek them out, even unto the
31. last days. What we find in this Universe is because
32. of the laws and plans of God. Do
33. not believe the ignorant ones who say
34. otherwise. Only the miracles of the Lord can
35. bypass His own laws, for only God
36. himself can break his own laws.
37. God is all-powerful, He is perfection,
38. He is the cause of all causes. All things
39. in the Universe, being derived from
40. God, are all linked together in an
41. all-encompassing force (God is a personification of this). Although God
42. made the Universe and then let it
43. evolve, let it not be said that He is
44. a passive bystander! Only the misguided
45. say that. God, being the ultimate force,
46. is always active in the Universe, though he likes to let things be.
47. He rarely interferes in the physical Universe, but often in the spiritual (spiritual and physical are two aspects of existence), directing
48. the evolution of stars, planets, and intelligent life. He chose to tinker
49. with the natural process of Evolution so as to create humans. Do not listen to
50. those who deny evolution. Regular evolution could not have produced
51. such intelligence without divine intervention.
52. God shaped the force within us into souls, making us an important part of the
53. spiritual Universe, so that Humans survive even after the death of our bodies. God
54. loves and guides us. Thus, such is the
55. way God operates. He directs His
56. creation towards a higher purpose, all within the bounds of His laws. He
57. influences and sometimes interferes but mostly allows for our free will and for the occurrence of
58. the natural course of things. Let no one say in the future that science
59. and God are incompatible! The former
60. merely seeks to explain the
61. glory of the latter! God did not specifically
62. plan for the Earth, for there are a
63. million million Earths in the vast Universe,
64. but from this Earth’s organisms, He
65. chose humans for some higher purpose. He knew that life would evolve in many
66. places, for such is the nature of His laws, and when it suits His plan, He makes
67. some life-forms intelligent. Who knows the mind of God but God? And of course,
68. how else did non-living things become living things? Only God could have
69. provided the spark that
70. took evolution from the non-living to the
71. living stage. Such is the power of the Lord. Therefore, let science and religion
72. coexist in harmony and both shall work towards the betterment of each other.
Commentary: This book is a rather complex and important book, because it is basically the only book dedicated to metaphysical matters. Aralan in general believes that science should answer metaphysical questions, and that science merely seeks the truth about the laws created or guided by the force and God. Science can be used to help us understand the truth about reality. (Alternately, magic can too). According to this book, time and space only exist within the bounds of the Universe, so the application of these two to objects outside the Universe is nonsensical. This does not mean there is nothing outside the Universe, because the force and God exist everywhere, but the form of their existence beyond the Universe would not manifest itself physically in a way we can comprehend. The mysteries of the form of the force and the force itself outside the Universe are perhaps too complex to humanity to ever grasp; perhaps humanity is not meant to grasp such things. The Universe itself is but a small, local manifestation of the force. We have no idea why the Universe was created, but since everything follows God’s plan, everything that was made and happens is for some greater good or purpose. Aralan believes in some form of the Big Bang Theory, and that the Universe was created some 12-15 billion years ago from a small point or singularity, somehow, by God. Aralan will agree with whatever science says happened since then. Aralan also believes that the Universe will expand forever, until the “end,” an event far in the future; nobody knows how this will occur [Aralan often uses the term “end of the world” which in most cases means a major change in the way the world works, not the actual ending itself]. The Universe itself runs on the laws of science that Aralan believes were created by God along with the Universe (or modified from the eternal laws of the force); only God can bypass these laws. God can also tweak these laws or interfere in the Universe to make certain things occur. Aralan believes in the Theory of Evolution, but believes that God provided the spark that begun the process of life by turning non-living matter into (simple) living matter. This probably occurred in many places in the Universe. In many of these places, as life became more intelligent, God provided the final spark that transitioned life to the stage of intelligence (this spark included the creation of a soul or conscious for these intelligent beings, so in a sense they become highly acute personifications of the force as well as spiritual and physical manifestations of the force in contrast to lower life forms which are only physical manifestations). This is the case with human beings as well. Other than providing a few such nudges, Aralan believes God lets the Universe run and evolve on his laws. This does not mean God is a passive bystander. Aralan still believes that God is very active in the spiritual affairs (moral, ethical) of the Universe and the intelligent beings which populate it, and he often intervenes in these affairs. Since there are probably countless intelligent life-forms, and since the Universe is but a small part of existence, who knows how many things God does?
