Asterton seems best to be described as Stanton, which has vanished from modern maps. It sits hard under a very steep route up the western escarpment of The Long Mynd nearly 2km north of Myndtown and 2km south-east of Wentnor
History
In Domesday, Asterton is recoded as having one hide of land attached to Lydbury North, whose lord was the Bishop of Hereford.
