Taiya

Taiya is a lone gypsy, though the term "gypsy" is used loosely here as Taiya has no actual connections to any sort of gypsy clan or family. It is more a sense of her lifestyle, as she currently spends her time wandering from place to place in an attempt to meet as many different people as possible. She arrived in Centria for nothing more than this wandering reason and has now landed herself amidst the current political struggle, as Aroshi Yamabiko has taken an interest in her complete lack of connection to Majik, and Noctorious Drake has taken an interest in her personal well-being. This will mark the longest she has stayed with one group of people, as well as the most involved she has become.

Taiya is energetic, playful, blunt, and rather self-interested as she is not particularly concerned with how her constant teasing or comings-and-goings affect the people around her. She guards her secrets carefully, but more out of a lack of ability to connect to the larger world and see her place in it, than any sort of hidden agenda.

• Taiya is extremely skilled with her bowstaff, lock picks, and pickpocketing, and therefore, also an excellent fighter in physical combat.

• Taiya loves to tease everyone and frequently gives people pompous nicknames.

• For whatever reason, Taiya ends most sentences with "yeah." It's sort of equivilent to saying "ya know" overly frequently.

Taiya's family was taken by slave traders when she was 5. The slavers wiped the memories of her entire family (and anyone else they took) and brainwashed them with Violet Majik. Taiya was the sole exception, as the Majik had no effect on her, and she watched her family forget her existance until they were eventually sold off. When she was 10, she escaped and was taken in by the only friend she has ever had, Jace Belden.

Taiya's power lies in that she has absolutely no powers. Unlike all other people in World, she is completely dead to all forms of Majik, and according to theory, should not even exist because of this. She CAN NOT be affected by Majik. The mystery, then, is why she responded, even if only slightly, to Aroshi's Red Majik.

Because she has spent the last three years wandering about randomly, Taiya technically knows a ton of people. But since she moves on quite quickly, she never makes any lasting connections. She is more interested in leaving an impression on others than who she takes with in her memory - hence the loud, teasing, extroverted personality.
