Merlia is a magician like that of Merlon on Star World. She runs the star temple far north of Starborn Valley, where she is often secluded except for from the ninji that are also there. She does fairly well at magic, but her main purpose is to make the star temple a place of healing, as well as a place of psychiatry (as she has a degree in psychiatry). Only the most serious psychiatric cases come to her, which means she has her work cut out for her. She's become good friends with Gluposs recently, however.

History

The Only Story She'll Ever Be In Probably!

Most of Merlia's past is unknown, but it's assumed she has lived at the Northern Star Temple all her life. There, she was in charge of looking over the temple and other such things. She also became a licensed psychiatrist, and every so often patients came to her for help, although more often than not she got the more severe cases, as the northern Star Temple was also a good place for healing. For the most part, however, she was alone.

The temple was also a place of hidden secrets, and one day an ally of the shaman clan, a wiggler named Wiga, came to the temple to have a shard of a star holding a demonic spirit called Darkost inside hidden away. Merlia hid it in a dream realm, but Wiga came down with a sickness she died from. Over a couple decades later, a Wiggler named Wiggly Jr. came to find what had happened to his mother. After learning, he was detained there for a couple years until one day he was finally about to leave.

However, a group that called themselves Team TOT (along with a few of their friends, including Gluposs) appeared one day with a baby star. The star was to be given to Merlia, and she would use it to defeat a great evil, but Merlia didn't know what to do with it. Soon, however, while Gluposs was speaking with her, she had a vision and learned they needed a green knight from the Order of Eidolon. Team TOT knew someone who matched the description (Luigi), so they went off to find him. Along the way back to Starborn Valley, though, the Koopa King Bowser and Kamek showed up to attack them, trying to get the star for themselves.

They were defeated, but then Kammy Koopa appeared with the Dark Prognosticus and revealed her ancestor was Kastrodoms, the writer of the book. Team TOT, Gluposs and Merlia were able to escape by digging underground while the others fought against Kammy. They got to the Mario Bros. House, told Mario and Luigi what was going on, and Topper once more dug underground while the others followed. They reached Shooting Star Summit, but found the SWDF and Kammy's Darkost army were about to have a battle there! They were levitated up to Star Way just before the fight began, and at Star Haven, they and the Star Spirits watched as Kammy and the Darkost broke through to The Mushroom Kingdom. The Star Spirits gave Top and the others a power boost, and they went down to Peach's Castle to fight Kammy.

Instead, Luigi fell down a trapdoor and they were attacked by Darkost. Gluposs poofed into a kart while Top mixed Light and Freeze abilities to freeze the Darkost and they hurred to the clock room of the castle, where they freed some characters kidnapped by Kammy. Kammy appeared and fought them; Top froze some Darkost, but then was attacked by Kammy and he lost the ability. They were completely unable to hit Kammy due to the Darkost until Luigi showed up, and with Merlia and Luigi, Kammy was defeated.

The Dark Prognosticus then projected a ghost hologram of Kastrodoms, who revealed his revenge was now ready to begin. They no longer had the baby star's power, but the Star Spirits used their power to prevent Kastrodoms from summoning Darkost. They fought, and eventually they were able to defeat Kastrodoms and destroy his energy ghost. Merlia returned to the Northern Star Temple, but Gluposs decided to come with her, as he had no place to go.

Personal Information

Personality

Merlia has a fairly dutiful personality, doing what needs to be done when it needs to be done. However, she sometimes tires of the life she has at the temple, and gets lonely up there as well. She enjoys company, and is sad to see them leave. She also enjoys helping people.

Appearance

Merlia is similar in appearance to Merluvlee (PMTTYD), and her actual appearance is hidden by her thick clothing. Althouh all that can be seen of her face is a silhouette and eyes, long, silver hair that ends in curls comes out the back. She has a tall, large, thick light blue hat that ends in a point with a yellow star on top. She has a thick, light blue robe on (due to the cold temperatures up north) with a star pattern on the middle. She seems to wear several layers of clothing, and has purple boots/shoes/feet.

Abilities

Merlia has magical abilities, although the exact magical abilities she has is unknown. She does, however, have the power of hypnosis, which she uses to help people look into their past and help them. She uses it with her knowledge of Psychology, which she has a degree in (somehow).

Residence

Merlia lives in the Northern Star Temple, a temple far to the north of Star World. Those who wish to travel to it generally must first go through Starborn Valley.

Interactions with Other Characters

Wiggly Jr.

Main Article: Wiggly Jr.

Merlia sees Wiggly Jr. as a good friend and an ally. Wiggly Jr.'s parents, Wiggly Sr. and Wiga, were both allies with the Northern Star Temple, and the light swords that Wiggly Jr. holds were crafted in the temple. She was sad to see him leave, but knew he had to go after being detained for so long.

Gluposs

Main Artile: Gluposs

Merlia and Gluposs are good friends, although Gluposs has fallen in love with her; it's unknown if she knows of this or not, but it's likely she does. She feels sorry for the life Gluposs has led, and has allowed him to come live at the Northern Star Temple, both so he may have a place to live and to keep her company. At this time, it is unlikely she has any romantic feelings for him, however.
