Gunblade

Gunblades are unique weapons that uses sword and gun parts. It was made in the 19th century by a blacksmith to be used by Mushroom Kingdom Guards. Early models could not be used as an actual gun, meaning it didn't fire projectiles, not be used as an actual gun, meaning it didn't fire projectiles, and could therefore only be used in melee combat, making it more like a gun supplementing a sword than a blade supplementing a firearm, like a bayonet on a rifle. The firing of the Gunblade's chambers induced a tremor in the blade effectively making it similar to a vibroblade. Later models changed the mechanisms so they work as both a gun and a blade. Like many weapons, they come in many forms; revolvers, assault rifles, broadsword bazookas, and dagger sized pistols. Not many used these weapons because they are difficult to master since they both require swordplay and gunslinger skills to use them in combat. Coshi is the most well known Gunblade user, Birdross is also known for weilding a Gunblade. Some of most veteran Yoshi Master Guards used Gunblades as ceremonial weapons and combat weapons too.
