Crisis on Infinite Forums

The Crisis on Infinite Forums, a crossover event involving both the Mental Corrosion and Superdickery boards, took place on December 31, 2005. Consequences include the destruction of the Mental Corrosion forums by Virgil, the retcon of UnforgettableFire from a 33-year old high school history teacher to a 16-year old high school junior, and several people changing their avatars to ones they had had previously.
Countdown to the Crisis
As the month of December came to a close, the third round of Admin Elections began on Mental Corrosion. The reigning admin, UnforgettableFire, had been ruling lazily, ineffectively, and doing nothing at all. The voters of the forum wished to replace him with somebody who was not him. Among the crop of prospective candidates was a new one, Anarchy. Many thought Anarchy, a new poster, to be just another sock puppet with nothing to back his threats of destruction and mayhem.
Crisis on Infinite Forums
On December 31, Anarchy struck by hacking into the Mental Corrosion controls, de-administrating both Virgil and UnforgettableFire, and changing the board layout, radically and irrevocably altering the forum. Many of its inhabitants fled to the progenitor board, Superdickery, where quick detective work by Joyuna and UnforgettableFire linked Anarchy's IP Address to the Mental Corrosion creator and operator, Virgil. Virgil responded in a fit of rage, permanently deleting Mental Corrosion.
It was at this time that UnforgettableFire, grief-stricken by the loss of MC and upset by the disruption of his grandiose plans, revealed himself to be a sixteen-year-old boy and not the history teaching asshole that everyone knew and loved. Struck by the sheer surprise of this revelation, everyone layed off the hate for a while.
Consequences of the Crisis
The Mental Corrosion boards and all associated posts and articles were lost, but Virgil, with the aid of UnforgettableFire, managed to recover them only recently. Among the major character changes was UnforgettableFire's retcon and Virgil's revelation to be Anarchy. Three new boards were set up: Mental Corrosion 2.0 (which failed), Kris's board (also failed), and Cerebral Erosion, which was born out of MC's ashes.
