Alex Departie
- Name: Alexander James Departie
- Bloodline: Pureblood
- Birthplace: Dublin, Ireland
- Class:: Upper
- Year: 7th
- House: Slytheri
- Wand:
Elmwood and dragon heartstring
(Elmwood has been considered the wandwood of the dark arts. It is a favorite to many dark wizards due to its natural ability to cause depression or darkness. This type of wood is useful to dull the senses and deals well with spells dealing with shadows.)
Personality
Alex is fiercely loyal and protective seventh year Slytherin and would be willing to go to any lengths to help/protect them. And any lengths means any lengths. He cares and values for his own head, of course, but he's more likely to protect the very few he cares about than to leave them to fend for themselves.
When it comes to school, he doesn’t excel in anything. In fact, he simply does fairly well in all of his classes, sans Divination.
Alex is a bit mentally unstable, for one. He has a tendency to be violent, rash, and brutally honest without thinking much of another person’s feelings (again, unless he cares about them. He’ll be honest then, but not AS cruel with it). He’s also COMPLETELY shameless about those who he flirts with, snogs, and so on (well, the youngest has to be at least fifteen. Only real standard).
He’s very much the ‘cliché’ Slytherin, mostly doing things for the greater good of himself, as opposed to what would help others, sans his friends. He's ambitious as all hell and loves nothing more than to 'play' people to his will. He enjoys being able to subtley manipulate them and break a person.
Alex is horrible at Divination. He doesn’t bother with the latter since he’s a more of the ‘live in the moment’ types, as opposed to thinking about the results of his actions. He’d much rather be surprised by his future than know what’s coming. His main weakness is his touchiness and moodiness-- it's quite easy to send him sulking and brooding.
Physical Description
Alex is tall, standing at six feet, though his frame is thin and a little lanky. He makes up for this in personality. When he actually smiles? It can be really pretty... but that doesn't happen often. He has bright blue eyes that seem all-too-innocent for his personality.
History
Alex was always the odd sort of child. He was shy, rarely socialized with anyone, and kept mostly to his room. He’s never been the type of person who enjoys being around people, in fact, he despises it. His parents were perfectly kind people, so he could never blame this on either of them, so it’s a real mystery as to why he’s so paranoid and spiteful. When he did play, however, his games were not the normal ones of children. They were always imaginary games with imaginary friends, tales of him ‘destroying’ his enemies (i.e. other children from his neighborhood) and people he did not like. He was always involved in these stories and didn’t just ‘watch’, but put himself in the story.
His parents are on the wealthy side (though, not as much as other families), and always made an attempt to get their son to be friendly and kind, showering him with gifts, praise, whatever he wanted…but nothing worked. Eventually, they gave up and decided to let him be (perhaps a very unwise decision), leaving the boy completely alone for hours at a time, unsure of WHAT to do with him.
He does trust and open up to a select few, but it’s a rarity. This has to do with his need for solitude and aloneness, and the fact he’s been that way for years doesn’t exactly make him the candidate for ‘friend of the year’.
School
House
Slytherin, the Rulers:
The Rulers are of those that claim to rule over all else. They are generally ambitious and power-hungry. You will note that these are also typical Slyth traits. Salazar Slytherin was without doubt of the Ruler caste.
Classes
Alex does best in Transiguration, as he finds it most useful. Other than that, he fairs decently, but doesn't put as much effort into them as he should.
Relationships
Alex is best friends with Lucas Longshore, Colin Mayfield, and Tobias Kinsella, forwhatever reason. They definitely have the oddest of relationships, but it works for them, and he's fiercely loyal and dedicated to them.
Zoey Montclair and Dariana Davison are two girls he fools around with quite a bit. He has an odd fondness for them (God only knows why).
Hannah Salix, the poor dear, is a 'project' for him. He enjoys the power and influence he seems to have over her and tends to take advantage of that.
Astrology
- Birthdate: November 15, 1987
- Sign:SCORPIO. The Scorpion. Fixed, water, yin - planetary rulers: Mars and Pluto. Keywords: "I DESIRE"
Scorpio is the eighth house of the Zodiac and governs the genitalia. Positive traits include magnetic charisma, ambition, drive, a penetrating mind, curiosity, intensity of focus, emotional depth, consistency, persistence, willpower, and the potential for inner transformation and regeneration; negative traits include selfishness, obsessiveness, vindictiveness, hypersensitivity, ruthlessness, cynicism, an inability to understand the word "moderation," and jealousy. It is said that Scorpios embody both the best and the worst of all that are born under the stars, and that there are three kinds of Scorpios: wicked scorpions, cunning serpents, and saintly eagles. What each Scorpio becomes is entirely up to that Scorpio.
Slytherin Scorpios
What is said of Slytherins born under all other signs is doubly true of Slytherins born under Scorpio. (Or was it that what is said of Scorpios is doubly true of Scorpios sorted into Slytherin?) There is no middle ground here - these wizards can embody all that is the very best in the world... or all that is the very worst. They are heroes, or they are villains. They are attracted to the dark, twisted, and forbidden mysteries of the world from the day they are born, and only they can determine whether they will study the dark arts in order to oppose them, or to embrace them. However, as Scorpio is a sign of transformation and regeneration, it is not impossible for even the most evil of dark wizards to turn to the path of good... Scorpio Slytherins have uncanny wisdom, insight into human psychology, and high "emotional IQ's." They are incredibly ambitious, often exist in a state of total ego, and if misused or hurt, can nurse the wound and seethe for decades. Still, although they are often tempted to do horrible things in the name of glory or discovery, they nevertheless are often the kindest, most compassionate, and most forgiving people of all, for they have seen their own inner darkness, faced it, and do not run from it when they encounter it in others.
Rabbits
rabbit
Timid and attractive, the Rabbits of the Chinese Zodiac tend to act more like bunnies, whether they like it or not! This Sign is extremely popular and has a wide circle of family and friends. Its compassionate nature leads it to be very protective of those it holds dear, but where romance is concerned, the Rabbit's sentimentality can lead it to idealize relationships. The sweet, sensitive Rabbit often ends up giving more of itself to a partner than is realistic or healthy. The good news is, when this Sign goes off-balance, the Rabbit's core group of friends and its stable home life help bring it back to center.
The Rabbit is a rather delicate Sign that needs a solid base in order to thrive. Lacking close, supportive friends and family, the Rabbit might just break down in tears at the first sign of conflict. Emotional upsets in this Sign's life can even lead to physical illnesses. Rabbits dislike arguments and other conflict and will try anything to avoid a fight; this results in something of a pushover nature. Rabbits can also lapse into pessimism and may seem stuck in life -- often to mask their insecure natures. Rabbits tend to move through life's lessons at their own, rather contemplative pace; it's a waste of time to become exasperated with this Sign's seeming disinterest in facing its problems and conquering them.
With the right partner -- meaning someone whose high principles won't allow it to take advantage of this sensitive, giving Sign -- the Rabbit can make an incredibly loving and protective partner or family member. Rabbits love to entertain at home and always make sure their house is comfortable and tastefully-furnished. What Rabbits need most is a stronger sense of self-worth and the security that comes with it. Their discerning natures, coupled with some hard-won assertiveness, will help these happy creatures go far.
Scorpio/Rabbit
These Rabbits are demure, and you never quite know what they’ll do next. They are creative and open-minded and you can find most working in the arts. Although they are relatively stand-offish at times, they carry with them a depth of character unbeknownst to most people.
