ANDREW WILSON

Resides in Independence, Polk County. Was born in Perry County, Ohio. in 1842. He entered the army in 1861, as one of the Colorado Cavalry, and took part in the battles of Valverde, Sand Creek, Patch's Canyon, and in a raid into New Mexico. After the war he went to Missouri, but in 1874, left that State and came direct to this coast, and lived for a while in Lane County, before settling in Independence. He was married, in 1867, to Miss Martha Sodders, by whom he had two children, Thomas and Furman. His wife died, June 28, 1873, and he was married again, in 1874, to Mrs. Margaret Crouse, by whom he has one child, named Laura.
