DALTON ORAL THURMAN was born August 23 1914 in Springfield to O C Thurman (19 AUG 1877 in Lancaster, Ore) and Mary Elizabeth Barrett (30 MAY 1883 in Petaluma, California). He had been class president of Springfield High School in 1933. He was first married to Juanita Nora Williams (FEB 1917) on November 23, 1938 in Lane County. After she died on May 10, 1976, he later married Marjorie Innis in Reno, Nevada on September 8, 1976. Dalton died March 16, 1978 in Eugene], Oregon. He was buried in Rest Haven Mausoleum in Eugene.

THURMAN - Dalton O. Thurman, 63, of 175 Green Acres Road, Eugene, died March 16. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Poole-Larsen Chapel, Eugene, with private entombment at Rest-Haven Mausoleum, Eugene.

Obituary:

THURMAN - Dalton O. Thurman, of 175 Green Acres Road, Number 91, Eugene, passed away March 16, 1978, at the age of 63. He was born August 23, 1914, in Springfield, and had been a life-long resident of this vicinity. He attended Springfield schools, graduated from Springfield High in 1933, and was employed with Texaco Oil Company for 30 years before retiring in 1972. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita. He was later married to Marjorie Innis in Reno on September 8, 1976. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters: Karen Runk of Springfield ; and Donna Smith of Eugene; 4 grandchildren; 1 step-daughter, Sharon Mulcahy; 4 step-grandchildren; 2 sisters; Beulah Meads of Springfield, and Lora Chaffee of Mapleton; 2 brothers: Quentin of Eugene, and Claire of Reedsport. Funeral services will be held Monday, march 20th, at 11 a.m., in POOLE-LARSEN CHAPEL with Reverend Gerald M. Conrad of the Springfield Lutheran Church officiating. Private entombment (sic) in Rest Haven mausoleum. Visitation hours Saturday and Sunday, noon to 8:30 p.m. in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in care of the chapel.
