Hurricanes vs. Homes

a-1. Population-In the "Hurricanes vs. Homes: Should Building on U.S. Coasts Be Stopped?" Dave Murzin mentions that many people are moving back to the coastal regions even after all of the hurricane damage. With all of these locals going back home the population is growing quite well, because even though many people move away after the destruction new families come in and take their place. So even with all the damage the population is actually doing quite well.

a-2. Environment-With all of the damage that a hurricane causes you have to wonder how a place can survive. It's not that hard really, because even though the trees and shrubs are often torn from the ground, especially with hurricanes like Katrina, you have to remember that trees and other plants like srubs can be replanted, which is exactly what often happens. So even though a hurricane may cause environmental damage that damage can be fixed.

a-3. Ethics-Ethicly it makes no sense why a person would move back to the coast after having all of their valuables destroyed. But as John Maiolo says the coastal land is so valuable that it makes sense to move back. If anything a person could move back to the coast, rebuild their houses and just sell the house and property for as much money as they can.

China Makes Stable Energy

b-1. Population-The population concept is in the name. By making Stable Energy Supplies Top Priority for Economic Planning China is also providing many jobs. In order for this program to work efficiently you will need people to run the jobs that the program creats.

b-2. Environment-This program is also environmentally sound Andris Piebalgs is trying to creat a system that will capture the carbon dioxide put off by coal burning plants that give energy to 2/3 of China's population, this device will help prevent global warming. They are also working on more energy efficient sources such as wind mills and solar power. So if you really look at it environmentally this could be the best idea ever.

b-3. Ethics-Ethicly this is a very good idea it gives jobs to many people, doesn't pollute the air or destroy the environment. So as far as ethics go I say good job.
