This is the village of Radu on the planet of Bryssedun. It's fairly large, as far as human settlements go, with nearly five hundred inhabitants, most of them farmers, shepherds, and cattle ranchers, taking advantage of the rich, fertile river valley and the lush grass on the gentle hills that roll on either side of the wide, slow river. It may seem like an idyllic life, but appearances can be deceiving.
Monstrous giants lurk in the mountains and would love to come down to the valley for an easy meal. Goblin hordes roam the land, seeking their mortal enemies, faeries, to slaughter, and taking great pleasure in cutting down anyone else who might get in the way. Demons wreak havoc and werewolves howl in the night, hungering for human flesh. Rogue dragons hunt in the wild lands between villages, always seeking to carve out their own territory...or to take the territory of another dragon.
To protect themselves in this dangerous world, the humans have struck a bargain with the most unlikely of allies -- dragons. Each village is ruled and protected by a Dragon Lord, usually the largest, strongest, oldest dragon in the area. Dragons are typically wise and fair, though their justice is often considered harsh and their vengeance merciless. The villagers provide the Dragon Lord with a den, either carved into a mountain or built from heavy stone blocks, a supply of food, either sheep, cattle, wild game, or fish, and a harem to help slake the Dragon Lord's insatiable sexual appetite.
A dragon's harem is made up of human males and females, younger dragons, faeries, gryphons, shape-shifters, goblins, and any other sentient creatures that a dragon feels like catching and keeping for their sexual pleasure. Dragon's have no sexual preference, as they have no distinct gender of their own, with all dragons possessing male and female reproductive organs. For simplicity's sake, and because the penis is the visible organ, most dragons are referred to as male.
It is the first day of the month and a group of fresh concubines has been gathered to deliver to the Dragon Lord of Radu, a black dragon named Vayne. Most are captives, but a few are volunteers, serving the Dragon Lord to ensure that their families and their village remains safe.
The story is about to begin. But first, who are you?
- A human male, a captured bandit serving a month in the dragon's harem instead of ten years in prison
- A human female, volunteered by her father to curry the dragon's favor
- A faerie male, captured by slavers and sold to the people of Radu
- A gryphon female, captured by hunters and sold to the people of Radu
- A young green dragon, captured at the edge of the Dragon Lord's territory
- Vayne, the Dragon Lord himself
