"Well, that was fun," the halfling says as her breathing returns to normal. "I'm Esgif, at your service." She half-bows, giving you a reasonable view of her cleavage.
"I'm Hovisk, an apprentice bodyguard here. Do you, uh, work here too?"
Esgif looks slightly sheepish. "...Am I supposed to?" she asks.
"You're a thief, aren't you?" Hovisk draws his sword.
