You keep low, running past the dead pimp's Impala until you come to your car. Still ducking, you put the keys in the door and open the passenger side. A bullet bounces off the conrete and richocets, grazing you. Then you slide over to the driver's side with your head ducked low and peel off down the block, leaving the two young trigger-men to cough on your trail of exhaust.

• Go to a payphone and call the hooker on the strip to let her know her “man” is no longer in the picture
