There's still 15 minutes before the bell for the first class rings. You amble over to where several of the football players are having an impromptu study session.

"I hope I get this quiz right today."

"This isn't easy stuff."

"All you have to do is substitute like so in this equation..."

"Yeah, but I still can't solve it."

You interrupt. "That's because you're all muscle and no brain."

The players turn and look. "You snotty little bitch. Just because your dad has money..."

"Why, a sixth-grader could handle that joke of a quiz," you giggle. "Any idiot would be able to solve these problems." You look at the apparent leader of the group, a very tall, redheaded boy who plays tight end. He comes from a dirt-poor family and you know he is desperately trying to get a scholarship so he can attend college. You search Ashley's memories and find that his name is Thurston Long and he has a major crush on Ashley, in spite of or perhaps because of the fact she is always a condescending bitch to him. "Of course, Thurston, you're not just any idiot."

Thurston slowly walks over to you. The expression on his face is pure rage, but he manages to control himself. He gently picks you up off the ground and holds you in the air. "Why don't we have a little challenge, Ashley?" he says with a twinkle in his eye.

"What sort of challenge?" you ask.

"Simple," he says. "If I get 85% or more on this quiz, you get up at the school assembly tomorrow in front of everyone and say these exact words: I owe Thurston a gigantic apology. He's both very smart and a huge hunk. If I don't, I will get up at the same assembly and say these exact words: Ashley is always right. I will never complain about her teasing and taunting anyone, ever again. So what do you say? You up for it?"
