Talk to the the Merchant across from the Inn.

Approaching the Merchant you notice a smirk form on his face as he sees you. Before you have a chance to speak the merchant raises his hand to stop you.
Talking slowly he says, "Your not from around here. I can tell by the odd look in yours eyes. You're lucky no one else in town has noticed, they wouldn't take well to strangers. The last one burnt down that house over there."
Looking toward where the Merchant is pointing you notice the building that the smoke leading you to town was rising from. The smoke has nearly stopped rising but the burnt down house is still easily distinguishable. Turning back to the Merchant you see him recollect himself for a moment before continuing.
"I suggest you Talk to the Old Man just north of town. He won't have much to say, but he is the only one that can help you get back home."
Without giving you the opportunity to speak the merchant goes back about his business. Realizing you won't be able to get any more information out of the Merchant you look toward the north side of town and see a road leading out.
