There is a problem with this strategy, but you won't realize it until it is too late.
You might or might have noticed that the octopus is swimming to the bottom of the ocean all the while you're wrestling with its tentacles. What you can't notice, however, is that the octopus isn't only trying to stuff your stomach with eggs because that's a free body cavity. That's one reason, of course, but another is that its eggs give off oxygen for you to breathe - keeping you alive to fend for its unborn young until the eggs hatch, and then providing the newborn tadpoles with a fresh unspoiled source of nutrients.
Since you refuse this source of oxygen, you suffocate. Unfortunately, the octopus doesn't realize this until it reaches the bottom of the ocean.
