The receptionist nods, and types a few more things into the computer.
"Can I get your name, number, and address please?" she asks while she leans across the desk and takes an unmarked hospital bracelet out of a drawer. She switches between typing in your information and preparing to print out a label for the bracelet.
After you've given your information, she confirms several things with you and even asks a several additional questions (allergies, any current medication, etc.) just so that both she, and the doctors, have all the information.
The whole process takes about five minutes.
"Your hand, please?" she asks, and you reach forward. She places the bracelet around your wrist and motions down the hallway on your left.
"There is a waiting room over there. We'll come get you when we have someone available. We are unusually swamped today for some reason."
You nod, and proceed to the waiting room.
It is there you find that her claim of being swamped is actually quite true. There are over a dozen people, and families, waiting around for some help. Shortly after you walk in, a nurse also walks in: "Peter Tapping?"
An older man gets up from his seat, freeing up the chair for you, and follows the nurse out of the room.
