You drop three cards and deal her 1 card, then yourself three cards. Your heart sinks as you see an 8 of hearts, a 9 of diamonds, and a 6 of spades. You are kicking yourself for not going for the straight flush. You would not have gotten it, but a flush is better than a pair any day. You have a feeling you are about to lose your socks.
You lay down your cards at the same time as your sister. You realize quickly that you were right. Your sock comes off and you toss them aside as she beats you with 3 4s.
The second hand she shuffles and you cut. You look at your cards carefully, trying to hide the look of a nice hand. You have 3 6s, a 4 of diamonds, and a 5 of spades. It would be crazy to lose the three of a kind in hopes of getting a straight.
