Grabbing your backpack, you tiptoe down the stairs, not wanting to disturb your mom. She has been really stressed lately, probably because you will be leaving soon, so you think it might be best if you leave quietly. On your way to the door, you can hear her in the kitchen.
You suddenly stop. What is she doing in there? The sink isn't running, and it is too early for her to be making breakfast. You hear more strange noises.
