Chapter 14: Broken
Elena takes you through several dark corridors, until you reach a dead end. There, she pushes a square stone on the wall, and it slides aside! You pass through, and it slides shut behind you. You hope Elena knows what she's doing.
You walk the secret passage, which leads ever downwards. Elena's candle burns out, and you have to feel your way forward. Your nightvision is no use in the total darkness. You start to feel uneasy, but there's nothing to do about it. You pass a door, and you can feel from the airflow you have entered a large chamber.
Suddenly, the door slams shut behind you, and a bright fire ignites before you. Red dots dance before your eyes at the sudden light, and you're briefly blinded. Strong hands grab your arms. After a moment, you can see again. The sight breaks your heart.
Before you, in a vast chamber now lit by numerous braziers, stands duke Korol. The room around him is a temple to pain, filled with every conceivable machine and instrument of torture. At his side stand Elena.
"I'm so happy you came to join me here, Kayla. My daughter was most insistent." His deep voice booms across the torture-chamber. Your arms are held by two guards. Escape is impossible. Elena has betrayed you. Again.
You finally break. The very moment of escape has turned to bitter defeat, the princess you love and thought loved you has betrayed you to unimaginable tortures, and there is no longer any hope of escape. You collapse, crying uncontrollably, trying to curl up into a ball. No-one has ever managed to break you before, even under torture, and now you've fallen to the tricks of a young girl. You don't want to live any more.
"Torture me, kill me, just get it over with!" you tell them between the sobs. "I can't believe I trusted you, Elena. You must be proud of yourself." You catch a glimpse of Elena. She ought to be triumphant, but she looks mostly worried.
"Not everything was a lie, Kayla. I do love you, but I can't give up this life. Please, listen to me", she says, pleadingly. "You're the best lover I've ever had. I want to be with you! I've managed to convince father to spare you, if..."
"If what?"
"If you join us!" duke Korol booms. "Be Elena's willing lover, and mine! Join us in the rape and torture of the sluts in the harem and the dungeon! Every dark sexual desire you have ever had can be satisfied here!"
"Please, Kayla", Elena continues. "Don't be a victim. You will learn to love to torture girls, and I will be there with you. I know you have a dark streak in you. Let it loose!"
"And if I refuse?"
"Then you will scream for death every day of your life, until we finally grant it. Your tortures will last for many years", duke Korol says.
"But why this charade, Elena? Why not just ask me?"
"Father wanted it this way. He said your mind would be ready for the suggestion, now. Please, say yes."
