You look at your map, memorizing the general details. It is an island in a rough shape like a circle laid on top of an X. There is a circular lake in the middle of the island, with a dot in the middle of that labelled 'supply depot'. Random areas are shaded red and marked 'danger'. Each of the four tips of the X are labelled with a different landmark. Lighthouse, Rock Fort, Airstrip, and Cape Town. According to the map's scale, the island is about 4 miles across. You have no compass, and you can't tell where the sun is. you have no idea where you are relative to the map. There is a moderate slope to the ground. There don't appear to be any paths, but the forest is fairly thin. You spend a while walking in circles before deciding that you need to pick a specific direction and stay with it. It's a very simple choice, uphill or downhill?
