You really have to burn rubber to make it to the office if you want to have a prayer of getting there before your absence is noticed. You speed down the roads and by some miracle you make it to the office without getting pulled over by the cops. You stagger up to your desk and collapse in your comfy office chair. You fall asleep until the guy who sits at the next desk shakes you awake.
"You're in trouble, buddy," the guy says. "Ms. Pierce has been looking for you all morning. You should go see her in her office before she comes out here looking for you."
Looks like your lateness got noticed after all.
