Before they can react you leap down off of the ship deck, landing heavily in the small boat. It rocks sickly but you use it to your advantage, putting your fist right between the eyes of the first armed bandit. You cry out, hurting your hand on the solid bronze mask, but you hit him hard enough that he topples off the side unconscious. Unfortunately he also unbalanced the boat, making it rock horribly making you fall and smack your head solidly against the bow. Looking up with swimming eyes, you stay awake just long enough to see the second bandit ram you in the skull with the butt of a rifle...
Hours later you come to, your head aching and hot with moist blood. Your whole body hurts as you struggle to look about and move. Something itchy scrapes around your wrists and feet, and your mouth feels dry and tight...you open you eyes all the way and see...
