Kaerillian looks startled. “Wha-?” he asks, probably thinking it’s a trick.

“I’ve changed my mind.” You repeat slowly. “If you’re afraid of me there’s no point. I can only feed on pleasure. If you’re too scared to feel good then I can’t get anything from you.”

Kaerillian looks worried. “B-but. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if you go suck the life out of someone else.

You resist the urge to roll your eyes at the boy. It seems no matter how many times you tell the boy you don’t feed on life force he’ll never believe you. But maybe you can use that to your advantage?
