Incubus: Set sail

You stride down the dock and make your way up the swaying gangplank to the deck of your ship, the Incubus. She's not a large ship, but she's fast, able to be crewed by a mere six men. You have twice that, not including yourself and your first mate, Cole. Piracy is a game of numbers--he who has the most swords wins. You like winning.
You issue commands as you make your way to the ship's helm. The anchor is raised, the lines untied from the dock, the sails unfurled as you skillfully maneuver the Incubus out through the deep channel running between dangerous reefs and jagged rocks. The unfriendly waters are the reason why Verix Dae thrives as the crime capitol of Reddore--the huge navy gunships can't come within ten miles of the port. You still have to watch out for the frequent patrols in the deep waters, though.
Once clear of the harbor, you need to decide which course to take. Sailing north up the coast will bring you into the athaenian shipping lanes. Athaenians are fierce fighters and master shipbuilders--it's nigh impossible to capture one of their vessels, but large cargoes of silver ore and precious stones may be worth the effort.
South along the coast will bring you to the Isle of Caen, a privately owned island, home to the largest market for illegally imported slaves on the planet. If you can find desirable ones, slave trading can turn a nice profit, and give you something to fuck on the trip. Unfortunately, Lord Caen is a sadistic asshole who refuses to accept money or goods as payment, instead dealing in pain, sex, and humiliation.
Almost due east, straight out to sea, will bring you to the eastern shore of Korum, the first continent settled by colonists more than 250 years ago. Numerous small towns and villages line its shores, supplied by heavily laden, poorly armed merchant ships ripe for the picking. The downside to that is the three week journey across the open sea and the greater naval presence in Korum waters.
