You head up the stairs and find that the dim bar's upstairs is quieter than you thought it would be. There's a stage at one end of the L-shaped floor, and tables, and then booths near the back, some of which have men sitting and talking in them. Then you realize there's a curtained archway in the back, and you realize this is the "backroom" that the daddy bear was talking about.
