Grind Session Floor 1 - SAO:LW
From Create Your Own Story
Since yesterday went smoothly regarding grinding and obtaining Exp., why wouldn't today work out as well? You're far more experienced with a blade compared to yesterday, and you know some places where you could grind easily. You decide to head out to the fields and grind for the biggest part of the day.
Arriving at the fields, you notice that a lot of people are doing the same thing. Even though they seem strong at first, compared to your skills they would be easily outmatched. You decide to move away from the crowded area in order to grind some Exp. on your own.
One hour later
After quite some time has passed, it's noticeable that grinding isn't as easy as it used to be anymore. You don't gain as much Exp. as before. Now that you're Level 11, you think that your Level is good enough compared to other players. The moment you decide to leave, you can hear someone shout in the distance.
???: This is my grinding spot!!
You look behind you, and you notice a red-haired guy literally charging towards a monster. The person leaps towards the monster, followed by slashing it with an upward strike. You think in yourself:
You: The hell, how's that possible? Those movements aren't human at all!
While approaching the player, he seems quite busy with dealing with the respawned monsters. You decide to help him out a little by killing three Dire Wolfs. The player quickly noticed your assists.
- ???: Naw man, don't try to steal my Exp...
- You: Sorry buddy, but I found this place first. While we're talking, can you tell me how you did those strange movements back there?
The player with the nickname 'Klein' looks at you with a confusing look. He probably doesn't really know what you mean. After a few seconds, he thinks he knows what you mean.
Klein: Oh that. Do you mean that Sword Skill? It's pretty easy, really. Just activate its Pre-Motion and the magic will automatically happens. I'll teach you.
You nod in gratitude. You follow Klein's movements, followed by your sword starting to shine brightly. For some reason you're unable to move. It appears that the system makes you move on its own. Just like Klein, you leap forwards, followed by an upward slash. You're certain that if you do this more often, you will easily get the hang of it.
- You: These skills seem like a big deal for late-game. Thank's a lot Klein!
- Klein: Wait how do you know my name?
- You: Everyone can see each other's names above their heads, dummy.
- You: Oh indeed! In that case, you're welcome Razore.
Your first impression of the guy is that he is kind of retarded. Despite that, you still think he could be a great friend. After a quick chat, the two of you decide to buddy up and add each other in your friend lists. The introduction of Sword Skills gave you more motivation to battle, and after another hour, you noticed that you are now Level 13.
- Klein: Razore? Maybe it's rude to ask but what Level are you right now?
- You: I'm Level 13 now. How about you?
Klein has to gulp. You hope he won't exaggerate his level to you, because you think he may be more skilled than you.
Klein: How the heck did you get so high? You may just be the highest level player by now! I'm only level 7...
Klein is not the only one who is surprised, since you are now too. You don't even know yourself how you could level up way faster. Maybe you slayed monsters just faster? You didn't really pay attention to Klein's fighting style.
- You: No clue. Maybe I was just faster?
- Klein: I have no idea myself. I'm gonna go, I grow tired by all this fighting. See ya, Razore!
Klein suddenly takes off. You wonder what he is going to do, but you decide not to follow him. You return to the town, and hang around in it for a while.
The sun is going down, and you return to your inn room. You feel like the next few days will be quite repetitive. It's only a matter of time before you know.
