Go inside anyway

Thinking at least one of your family members might be home you shut the car off and head inside. Opening the door you are greeted by the obnoxious barking of your mother's puppy. Bending down, you silence the mutt with a good scratch behind the ears. He runs off, leaving you in the foyer.
From further in the house you hear a faint noise, possibly the television. Going down the hall you shout "Hello!" but no one answers. Turning the corner you walk into the living room.
