You think it best to stay home for now. Going to work seems pointless and you don't really know what's going on outside. Things seem calm in your area but that doesn't necessarily mean it's safe to go out.
So you lounge around your house in your underwear. Or more accurately a pair of panties and a tee shirt. Playing videogames, watching the news such as it is, keeping tabs on your friends over the internet, generally keeping occupied until you know what to do next.
Things are fine for a few days. You lay down to go to sleep one night, and a few minutes later, as you're drifting off, you think you year a noise.
