Your name is Koima. You're a junior scientist working for the UE military on several top-secret technologies. You work in a small team of other professionals. For example, there's James, a human scientist overseeing weaponised cloning modules. By the looks he gives you, you're sure he'd much rather be researching your rear end, though. There's also Muani, a junior scientist and Osiri like yourself who just transferred from another station for reasons she's yet to disclose. You've heard rumours an old colleague of hers was blackmailing her. Then there's Jenessa. She's a senior scientist overseeing the truth serum project. You're pretty sure the heartless bitch has tried to use it on you once or twice.
You arrive at work a little late today. In the rush to get in the lab before 9:00 AM, you forgot a few things. Namely, you've forgotten your lunch, your bra, and to button your shirt up all the way. At least you have your glasses this time. You check to make sure. Yep, definitely remembered your glasses.
As you walk in through the door, Jenessa is there to greet you. She is not happy. This is the fourth time you've been late this month, and you're running out of excuses.
"Let me guess," she says. "Caught in traffic? Your cat made another mess on the carpet? Alarm clock didn't go off?"
"I..." you mutter, but she cuts you off.
"Go on!" she shouts. "What's your excuse this time?"
