Downfall/Cate flirts with the blonde R4 D2 F1B T2 A0 1B

From Create Your Own Story

You are having too much fun to call it quits now. It has been a long time since only the two of you had an evening alone, without the families. Will is going to fine; maybe the dating app will help him succeed anyway, and if not: tomorrow is another day.

"Are you going to keep staring at her, or are you finally going over there?" you ask your sister.

"What?"

"You stared at her the moment she entered."

"You don’t think I should hit on her, do you?"

"Why not? I assume it would be more acceptable for Brian if you used the arrangement to get acquainted with a girl."

"Get acquainted? Sometimes you can be irritating, Jules. But it is kind of sudden. I don’t know if I have the courage. And I don’t know how to do it properly."

"You’ve been hit on enough times to know how to do it. Just do the opposite of what the guys did when they hit on you, and you’re good."

"Let her take the initiative?" Cate grins. You can tell she is nervous.

"What is it you always said to me? What’s the worst that can happen?"

"Like with any good advice, that’s only true for other people."

You maintain a light conversation while Cate struggles to reach a decision. You anticipate her coming to a conclusion when her face lightens up. Without saying anything, Cate stands up and walks over to the other women’s table. You can’t hear what is going on, but Cate’s body language tells you all you need to know.

Cate shows an indifferent face when she returns. "So much for that," she says after downing her drink.

"She isn’t inclined that way?"

"Straight as a bishop. I am going to retire; I had enough for today."

You aren’t sure if you fully understand the metaphor, but you don’t mind ending the evening. You pay the tab, adding a medium tip, and head back to the cabin.
