For a while, you try to chat with Cate, but you can't get more than mono-syllabic answer out of her. Cate's whole attention is occupied by the blonde and the guys hanging on her lips.
"One more drink?" Cate suddenly asks. You're at your limit - no more drinks for you. Cate orders one more, nothing strong, though; a fruity cocktail with strawberry called extrastrawdenary. Cate takes a small sip. "We should call it a day. I need to make some room. Can you cover the bill?" She doesn't wait for an answer - must be an urgent case of having to answer the porcelain telephone -, and she doesn't even take the time to put her glass down. She better should have, because Cate trips over a chair just before passing the girls' table. The content of the glass spills over the white top of the blonde.
That causes a bit of a ruckus. You only notice part of it because you are in the process of paying the bill and giving the barkeeper a proper tip. The blonde's friend starts to yell at Cate, while Cate is all apologetic. Ironically, the blonde seems to be the least agitated. Her shirt is definitely ruined (there is no way to remove the gigantic red stain from the fabric), but she doesn't seem angry and seems to console Cate.
A while later, Cate returns from the restroom. "Let's go", she says.
On the way back to the cabin, you say: "That wasn't nice. You shouldn't have doused her with your cocktail."
"I know, I know. I feel really bad. The fat one was a bitch, but the blonde is actually a really nice person." She interrupts you and continues: "Don't, Jules. I feel bad enough as it is. Just leave it be, okay?"
