Downfall/Call Kirsten for help

From Create Your Own Story

Not without difficulties, you manage to hold your dress closed and get your cell out and call Kirsten simultaneously. When she answers, you ask her to get you a shirt from your suitcase.

"The luggage is already checked in, Debs," Kirsten says. "Mom got the luggage a while ago."

"Rats. Can you get me a t-shirt from a shop somewhere, then?"

"Why do you need a t-shirt, Debs?"

When you explain her your predicament, you hear her laugh through the phone. "I'll get you a shirt, but..." She ends the connection, leaving you behind wondering what 'but' could mean. You don't need to wait long to find out. Kirsten finds you in the bookstore, where by sheer luck no other customer developed an interest in the romance novel section. She carries a dark blue t-shirt with a surfer on the front. You clutch at the shirt, but Kirsten holds it out of your reach.

"Not so fast, little sister," she says. You don't like the big-grinned face of hers. At all.

"Come on, Kirsten, give me the shirt. I need it."

"I can see that," she says, looking at the gape over your belly. "And I am here to help you. But my help doesn't come for free."

"What do you mean it doesn't come for free. That's not funny."

"I'm not joking. I want something for my help."

"I'm calling mum, then. Or Will."

"You do that." Kirsten smiles and turns around. She knows you won't muster the courage to explain yourself another time.

"Okay, okay. What do you want?"

"That's better. In return for my chivalrous action, you are going to be my slave for three days, starting tomorrow."

You roll your eyes. Being a 'slave' is one of Kirsten's favorite wager ever since you started betting. The loser ends up having to do all the chores and stupid errants for the loser.

"No way. I'm on vacation; I won't be your errand boy for three days."

"All right, then... see ya." She turns around again.

"Come back, Kirsten. Don't be ridiculous. You can't leave me here like that. Choose something else."

"No, I won't. But what about this? Two days?"

"One day!"

"Hmm. My last offer. The whole day tomorrow, and this evening after dinner. You can unpack my things and stuff, and after tomorrow you're free. Deal?"

What choice do you have? "Deal." You snatch the shirt from her hand and pull it over your head. Finally you are dressed properly, but at what price.

Kirsten's cell rings. It's mum. She tells her to meet you at Gate C. Your flight's been called.
