You hang your head. A coward from start to finish.
"You're right," you say. "I'll just stay."
The woman walks past you as you stand there feeling sorry for yourself. "Come on," she says. "Follow me."
You do, shuffling footsteps through the bank lobby as the woman leads the way. You don't say a word as she leads you to the back of the bank, past a few rows of offices and in through a door. She walks through the room, the walls of which are lines with security boxes, and heads for a great big round door.
"The vault?" You ask.
"Yep," she says. "Most secure place in town. Got everything I need inside to survive for a couple of weeks."
"The how'd you hear me knocking on the door if you were in here?" You ask.
"I wasn't inside the vault. I was walking around the bank to make sure I'd picked up everything I needed."
She steps into the vault, and reaches down and clicks on a lamp which floods the room with light. "Got a hand crank generator. Runs for for 4 hours after you crank it about thirty minutes. We'll take turns."
She points out a huge stash of can goods, crate after crate of bottled water, and three rolled up sleeping bags. "Food, water, place to sleep." She says. "See?"
