Now time for the backstory.
Your name is Jon. For the sake of ease, the rest of this will be written in third person.
"Oh, I love doing this," Adria said.
"I do too," Jon did. He loved this.
Adria and Jon were hot and sweaty. They did this every Thursday together. Running through town, they worked on cardio and made friends with anyone who could possibly help in the Hunger Games. They're such good friends with the mayor, the police, and every big name in the district they could kill someone and nothing would happen.
After their runs, they went to a gym and worked on the talents they plan to showcase in the Games. Adria always grabbed the bow, and she was amazing at it. She could hit an arrowhead from three hundred yards away, bending over backwards, using only two fingers per hand. She can shoot five times faster than Jon, but thats ok. Jon's talent is striking things with blunt objects. Give him a fist, a club, hammer, or even a bow, and he'll either smash his target in two swings, or destroy it. He is required to only hit a 10 ft section of wall. Which already has hundreds of dents from him, and some holes.
Adria and Jon plan to join the games together. They are going to volunteer to take the place of whoever is selected from the random drawing. However, they must be the first ones to volunteer. Today is selection day. Adria manages to be the first one to volunteer, and takes the girl's spot.
