"hardly!" Mr.Tate retorted. Your witty reply didn't do anything but aggravate the situation. "Clearly you're not fit to work today, I can't have you wearing this to class!"
"why not?" you reply.
"why not? it's against the rules to be wearing clothes like this here." he says
"Look, its just for one day sir. Not like I usually wear clothes like this right?" You say, trying now to come to some kind of agreement.
"I think you should go home and put on something a little more appropriate" he responds.
