Check the other side of the station

The two of you open the door slowly to the other side of the station, and as you shine the flashlight in, you can see the horrors in the hallway that leads to a big door marked evidence. There are the bodies of three officers lying on the floor, all in various states of undress, all viciously beaten, stabbed, cut, chopped, and bearing other wounds that you can't imagine how were inflicted upon the bodies. Blood and chunks of flesh and meat are scattered across the room, and flies buzz through the fetid air, hovering above the corpses. One of the officers, an older woman, has a police baton buried halfway up her backside, and you turn away from the scene and shut the door.
"Should we try to get through that and check the evidence room?" Melanie says, raising a hand to her mouth to stifle a gag. "I mean, we could, but it's not going to be pleasant. We also don't know what we're dealing with. A disease or an infection or something causing people to do things like this, whatever it is, could still hang on to corpses. Or the flies. Or just in the air. We could get sick trying to walk through that."
You consider it all for a moment, wondering what to do.
