You dash at the woman, not wanting to take chances, and swing the flashlight like a crazy man. You clip her with the back end of it just under the chin, and she nearly topples backwards. Cassandra begins rushing at you, but the woman is a bit quicker. She lunges at you, screaming, and catches you right under the ribs with the scalpel, dragging it across your torso and opening you up good.

You hit the ground hard, and looking up, you realize the woman's face is clean. She isn't infected. She slumps to the ground holding the gash you gave her in the chin, which bleeds through her fingers. Cassandra drops to your aide, cradling your head in her lap.

"Don't look," she says, pushing your hands away from your wound. "Don't touch," she says. "Just stay calm."

You do your best, but the wound is deep and long, and as Cassandra leaps up to run for medical supplies to save your life, you bleed out on the floor.
