"If I'm going to cook for you, I need to know what you like," you tell her. "What is your favorite dish?"

"I'm not sure you can handle cooking it," she replies. "It is called Linsen mit spaechle, and it is a favorite in the area of Germany my parents were raised in."

She walks over to her computer, and returns in a couple of minutes with a sheet of printout. "Here is the recipe."
